What will you choose between smile and tears?

Have you ever been overcurious about something? Take that chance to write with a pen for the first time, or trying out your newly bought clothes, or a plan of going out with friends, or maybe an online date. And what if I say that at the last moment it turns out to be something which you’ve never imagined? Well, most of us (or maybe everyone) have gone through something like that before.

It was my Uncle’s wedding this week and I was too curious about it. However, things went upside down when I reached home. I got to know that a member of my family had departed for heaven and that too just a day before the wedding. Everyone was hurt and the happiness and music, which should’ve been there, were replaced by sadness and silence.

People suggested of postponing the marriage but due to some traditions, it couldn’t happen. Two souls started a new life with sadness and demise all over them. And then it occurred to me: Why do we choose sadness over happiness? I mean, both of these things (marriage & death) happened at the same time but people chose the way of sadness, the evil, which shouldn’t have happened. Why do we keep looking for the things which are gone rather than the ones which are coming? I know it’s hard to move on in a single day but doesn’t happiness heal all the wounds of people? Instead of making his children smile, people were reminding them of past, about the things which were gone forever and never coming back. I wanted to cry from the rooftop that there’s happiness right in front of you and you need to embrace it.

Isn’t our future more important than our past? Well, it is. And that’s why we should make it better. We should choose smile over tears, and that’s the only way to move on, that’s the only way how humans have progressed till now. We invent something and if it doesn’t work or die out, we invent something else. As simple as that. But they’re emotions, right? And, we cannot invent them. Yes! You’re right. We can neither invent emotions nor do we have to, because they’re already present inside us. We just have to choose, choose between a sad and demise life and go down & down or a happy and cheerful life and go high above the sky. Maybe it’s hard but it’s not impossible. And next time, instead of crying with someone try to make them feel good. Even an ISIS terrorist can gift tears, but happiness (Yes! Happiness) is really hard, I mean easier.

So, what will you choose between smile and tears?

  1. Really…
Mr. Rajat, but sometimes the emotions comes in between which can’t be replaced..even if you are the physically strong,no matter who you are.. hurts a lot.
Ofcourse it needs to be tough from inside to choose.

  2. Right gentleman……
even if we see the two words “Birth” and “Death” and compare their first alphabets, the letter which comes in between is “C” which signifiy “choices” …..and it reveals the thing that our life totally depends on the things we choose and the choices made by one……….
Then why not choose smile instead of tears😊😊

  3. Yes Rajat, you are right about the choosing of any persons happiness and sadness. It is depend upon us completely we should choose happiness always but sometimes when this kind of things happens we become sad because in this whole world we all have personal/emotional attachment to some things so it is natural human behavior, I think this kind of things represents that humanity is still alive between peoples..

      1. moving on is important but at that point when something had happened we have no control over emotion but off course after sometime we can get our things togather and move on. everybody moves on with their it just that how much time they take to move on.

      2. That’s why I said that it might be difficult for that person’s children. But all other people were sort of discouraging them instead of telling them what lies ahead.
